Anyone had a go of one of these, have read the reviews etc and thought, yeah great and not thought much about it, then one rolled down our road the other day, Mettalic Blue, looked superb, stunning and sounded amazing too, I am a convert, I want one.

Sorry but Porsches are absolutely fantastic but almost as numerous as Mondeos (with which the M12 sort of shares an engine) round here, wheras this thind had the right ammount of everything, looks, exclusivity and track day cred, pity its 30-70 time is a few tenths shy of a Soarer though.

It sort of out TVR'd a TVR.

I drove one, thought it was really great. Handling superb, and acceleration, if not earth shattering was more than adequate for most people. would certainly leave my porsche standing.
The new ones dont have 2.5 mondeo engines any more, they've swapped for the 3 litre ford unit used in the 4x4 ford thingy now.

Not earth shattering, I suppose I cant comment having not driven one but Autocar quotes the 0-60 as 3.9, fairly brisk based on that figure I would say.

The change in engine would explain the 310/340 bhp figures I have seen.

What Porsche do you have ?

a 996, I know the figures, i guess it just didnt FEEL that quick, having said that I also have a caterham and to be honest, nothing roadcarwise feels that quick after a drive in that.

I was tempted, the only thing that stopped me was the (at the time) unknown residuals and reliability/build quality - I use my car to commute into london every day.

I think they are quite reasonably priced, compared to other stuff of similar ilk, looked well made to me, as for residuals they do seem to be getting a reputation so it looks good coupled with the fact they are not common on our roads, better than a TVR probably.

I saw one at goodwood. It obviously was quick. But it didn't look as quick down the straight as expected. Perhaps they were taking it easy?

The other issue is that the potential for oil surge is still a real issue for the trackday going owners. Noble keep saying there's going to be a fix (i guess along the lines of some sort of an anti-cav tank?) but not forthcoming so far... Not impressive on a car designed with the track in mind IMO

There is a rumour that due to some 'problems' these cars have that most of the early ones will have serious difficulties passing their first MOT... I am trying to pry the info out of the guy who told me but he is playing coy at the moment.

Edited to replace 'none' with 'most'
