Anyone had experience (driving and running costs) of a 968sport or club sport.
Will it be much quicker than Integra Type R?

I had a superb blast against a red one in Cheshire near the airport, looked superb, seemed to handle really well but didnt get away from my MK2 Golf GTI on anything other than long straights, guy gave me the thumbs up when whe parted company, upmost respects for these, my confession being that I have driven said road every day for ten years and I dont think Mr 968 had seen it before, still was good fun.

Guy I used to work with had one and used it everyday, was fairly expensive to run but no worse than a medium Merc according to him, Make sure you get it looked over by a specialist as a ropey one will cost wads to be put right.

Wink

Great cars...
I think the problem you will have is getting one of any decent caliber.
I've looked into these a couple of times - and any decent ones are literally sold within days of them being advertised.

Good luck,

There's a 45,000 miler 968 on Autotrader which is fairly near me for £14,750.
Trouble is he's had it since 17,000 miles and it's only been serviced by his "mate" who's a Porsche trained mechanic etc. blah blah blah.
Do you think it'll be hard to sell on, and is it too expensive without proper FSH? I only see it at about £13k with the dubious history.
Any thoughts?

I would never buy a Porsche without a service history. It needs to be serviced at a specialist or an OPC. As you say it would be very difficult to sell without.

Most old Porsches still look in very good shape, its the history that sets them apart. My car has every reciept from new, and if ever I come to sell it, I know that will set it apart from the others.

Cheers lads, that's what I thought, why buy a car at such low miles (17k) for presumably a fair amount of money, then effectively torch the service history

As I've said (not in so many words) in another thread today I think 968's are over priced and the **** will fall out of them sometime.

The car is basically just a 944 S2 - find a minter with all the history for £8k tops whereas the same car in 968 guise will be £14k+.
