Looking at one of these as a motorway car. Has anyone owned one? Looking at the 2.5 TDi as I don't want to spend loads on the D5 only to see it depreciate. Shame really.

Do they feel as big as they look?

 

Na feel like a mondeo to be honest but with built quality, diesels are a cracking buy

Have had a day in the S60 D5, it's a cracking engine, incredibly grunty and makes a cool noise too. Any gear / any revs, just boot it and it flies. According to the computer on the one I drove, it had averaged 40+ mpg over 10,000 miles.

Can't speak for the 80, the 60 rode and handled nicely but don't expect feedback / driver involvement 'cos there isn't much. It does go where you point it though.

Edited to say the 2.5Tdi is also a good motor -- very highly rated and still 250+ ft-lb of torque.
