I've currently got a Lupo Tdi company car (no giggles!). I will be upgrading it to a 150bhp Golf Tdi shortly. I've heard that superchips do a chip for the diesels and it can bring around 30% Extra Bhp and 40% extra torque. Just wondering if anybody has had this done and with it being a company car can I just take it back and have it removed and the original CPU reset when I have to give the car back?

Thanks

Marc

Would avoid Superchips. Upsolute are the experts with TDi tuning.

Wouldn't completely agree about Upsolute...

RevoTechnik have some very good products like the ability to disable the ECU for security.

Chipped to 195bhp - surely this must rival a Scooby's straight line speed??

The APR/Revo figures for the PD130 Engine in an Ibiza TDi Sport are 180bhp and 305lb/ft (approx), so you ain't going to be far behind (expect on the twisties... )

Thumbs up

This site has a good forum with lots of info on chipping / tuning boxes etc. People use Upsolute, AMD and others.

Edited to say that a tuning box is the easiest and stealthiest mod, as it simply plugs in and out in 5 minutes. With ECU upgrades you're looking at swapping out the entire ECU. Both tuning boxes and ECUs claim 25% uplifts in power and torque ... the best explanation of which is best that I've heard is:

"If you're keeping the car for a number of years, chip it. If it's not yours, or you're not intending to keep it long, use a tuning box".

The new Revo system allows you to program and swap the ECU maps via the serial diags port.

They do a lead to let you swap between performance and normal maps, as well as disable the ECU for extra security (can't start the car, even with the keys). Hence, when it's time for a service at the dealer, you flip the maps in seconds.

A m8 of mine has a company Audi A4 90 bhp Tdi with a superchip. BHP is increased to approx 120 - the difference is amazing. He has had it for 3 years now - rags the pants of it all the time even when its cold - never had a single problem. Superchip - does exactly what it says on the tin.

P.S Chip is up for sale if anyone interested as company car is going back - ooh and it is completely undetectable (unless you delve into the ECU compartment)
