just a quick question:
i have been offered a set of standard alloy wheels from a 106 gti for a silly price.

will they fit a 106 xt?? the xt has 13" steel wheels( i think), the Gti has 14" alloy wheels.

also, what size tyres for the gti 5 spoke 14" alloys.are they 185/55??

thanks

Duncan

Thumbs up

Yeah, I used to have a 106 GTi...

The GTi rims should just fit straight onto an XT, not a problem.

How much are they then?! (if you don't mind me asking)

These are the wheels in question...

(my old car)

The standard 106 GTi alloy wheels are 6J x 14" and tyres are 185/55 HR14's, probably Pirelli P700z's which are sh!te in the wet.

thanks guys for the help.

They are the wheels mate, your old car looks sweet

My girlfriend has been quoted £150 for a full set of tyres(dont know what make??think she said the cheapest!)
fitted and balanced etc.

And the price of the wheels are £5 each,a few marks and scratches.A friend works for some guys who rally these things and have changed the wheels for some lighter ones.
Fancy a carbon dash

Thanks

Well, it looked good there...

But it looked even better here >>>

Ended up getting a set of Speedline Chrono's for it in the end.

As for the "cheap" tyres, then at a guess they will be the Firestone ones, which are actually very good, even in the wet and much better than the cr@p Pirelli's you get as standard.
