Celica T-Sport

How are these cars? Had one tailing me on the motorway today, so I just moved over.
After he passed me I thought well I'm gonna keep up with him. He pulled away quite fast, I kept up until a speed of 100 mph but backed off because some cars were ahead and it was raining. But the guy just continued to a speed of approx up to 120 mph overtaking everything ahead. Now I don't care for the guy who is nuts without a doubt, but how good is a Celica T-Sport? Does it have something like 190 bhp, same engine as the Corolla T-Sport? or is it a 2.0 liter?

Thanks

Yep they are a 190BHP 1.8 - but they are a bit more aerodynamic than a Scoob and quite a bit lighter I guess.
Mate has the 140BHP version - well impressed - but I'm not swapping the Scoob just yet

So performance wise they must be in the Integra Type R league then, since they also have a high revving motor?
Anyway, I was impressd how he pulled away although totally stupied with regards to the weather condition and traffic ahead...with all the water splash cause by the other cars, I still wonder how he managed to see where he was going....

I am not! I'm a boy-parker!! Parked car in Gyle centre car park as I was car sharing and got back to nasty superglued sticker on the window saying I'd over stayed my welcome! Seems I just can't do anything right

All i know is there is a 1.8VVTi that does 0-60 in 9 seconds, that is some pretty ****e performance, so If it was the 1.8, then are you sure you were in your scooby

Hmmm, yes I think to remember I was in my Scooby or was it my wife's Daihatsu Cuore 3-cylinder 55bhp?
Naah that wouldn't do 100 mph.......
no, serioulsy, as I said I could probably have kept up with him but since 1) the visibility of the road ahead was very bad and 2) since I had ''stand duty'' the whole weekend and was near to fall asleep and 3) I didn't wanna die on such a day.
As somebody said here, it's probably the better aerodynamics that make it fast at higher speeds.....?
