Eaton Yale MkII Escort in Poynton

Driving home through Hazel Grove and Poynton on Wednesday night with a beautiful, full house, forest arched Mikkola replica MkII following me. I get onto what is known locally as the 'Mad Mile', a 1/2 mile stretch of wide road followed immediately by 1/2 mile of dual carriageway. all with a stupid 50mph restriction. There is a fair bit of traffic crawling along the inside, so I decide to open up the Legacy a little to pass some of it, 4.5k rpm in third with 3/4 throttle, and this Escort is stuck to my bumper. So I open her up fully, still in third, 5k rpm, right on the boost and going like a train. And this damned Escort is STILL on my flippin' bumper.
I backed right off there, as we were entering Poynton, then just cruised in traffic home, he stayed behind all the way to Adlington.
If anybody on here knows whose that car is, just tell them the guy in the green Legacy was well impressed, and it made his day

I got followed by a Metro 6R4 yesterday in Stoke, unfortunately I was in the Lexus and not the Scoob, and he went a different way to me after about half a mile. Damn that thing was wide

There's a guy near me with a 6R4 - full Tony Pond (RIP ) colours. I think it's been in Autocar. The sound of that brings up the hairs on the back of my neck - it is wonderful. He drives it with intercom headphones on!!

Brickboy - No it didn't have white arches, it looked like the photo above my post.
SL2 - It could be, only it didn't look like a minter It looked as if it was used properly, i.e, rallied. The only differences I could see on it were the reg plate, and it had a larkspeed sunstrip at the top of the windscreen.

If it had big arches and a battered looking body it is probably the same car, as I've seen it a few times in the Stockport/Hazel Grove area now. It is definitely a MkII.
