16k?
I'm going nuts trying to work out what I want ..
So I do a lot of motorway and I'm bored with the standard 2L Insignia engine.. I claim fuel so am not too worried about that.
Been looking at loads of cars, can't find anything that ticks all the boxes .
Heated seats
Sat Nav
Bluetooth
I like the twin exhaust (one on either side)
Punchy engine, sub 7 seconds if possible ..

RWD? 4WD? Saloon? Estate? 4x4?
I don't know what your idea of massively expensive is.
Have a look here for starters:

Something nondescript, well built and fast.....if you can get over the looks (or find an estate version) what about the 3.6 litre Skoda? I was surprised at how fast that was. The engine is relentless with power everywhere.

Avoid because its diesel?... If you can claim your mileage why not go for an RS4 / RS4 advant. It'll have comfort and speed. Plus looks good too.

The yeti is also pretty good, they do a 4x4 similar spec to a vrs and is quite good on the motorway

I have just got a 2011 335i M sport coupe dual clutch with 35000 miles immaculate with high spec for £17.3k. Cheaper if you get saloon. It tunes easily to 360 BHP and is good in the dry but annoying in the wet. The newer N55 twin scroll single turbo from mid 2010 has fewer reliability issues.

The 3.0 TDI sounds good and is relatively reliable.

Rear wheel worries me, I travel a lot and see many, many BMW's trapped when it snows .. I've been ok (so far) in my FWD's and of course kicked *** in my Impreza, the Audi is awd

If you can get a BiTDI 3.0 Audi that would be nice?
Cat D RS4 of that age and mileage will not be wallet friendly for running costs and resale. They also aren't that fast, especially with age.

As a daily driver, an Allroad A6 is a great choice I reckon.. ticks all the boxes for me anyway, look forward to seeing what you end up with.
Cheers,

Bought this .. have to say the stupid silver wings don't do it for me, they will be getting sprayed but other than that .. pretty impressed.
Collecting tomorrow
55k on the clock - all the toys I wanted FSH and 12 months UK wide Warranty. (seems like a decent one too, covers the 4wd etc)
