£7500 to spend on something normal(ish), any ideas?

I want to part with the Teg, cause insurance etc is just too steep, and I honestly dont get the equivalent performance use per pound.
I should have £7500 to spend, and need something relatively cheap to insure. I have spoken to my insurers, and a Pug 306 XS 3 door will cost £65 a month, as opposed to the £150 a month I pay for the Teg! but I dont mind going up to around £85 a month on insurance.
Probabaly a bit of a narrow bracket, am thinking of selling out and getting something more classy, 3 series compact? older Golf? but I dont have any real experience with these sorts of cars, so was hoping to narrow it down with peoples opinions.
Cheers

You can have my MKII VTS for that kinda money. Almost as quick as the integra and fun to chuck around but also civilised enough for normal driving. Should think it would be better to insure than the integra.

What about a 2.0litre Focus Zetec ESP. Probably the best handling mainstream hatch and stupidly low insurance (Group 8).
I had one B4 the Scoob, steering full of feel and the ESP allows you to have loads of sideways fun B4 it cuts in. Turn in is awesome.
The three doors in dark colours with the standard 16" wheels look good as well. Chuck on some 17's with 20mm lowered springs and they look very good, didn't effect the insurance too much either.

How about p/exing (with cash) for my 306 Rallye. I wouldn't mind an Integra for a 6 months or so till go for a Scoob. Its a 99 S and only has 10,000 miles on the clock. 167 bhp and cool as ****! Only group 16 insurance too.

One of the best handling front wheel drive cars around.
Insurance shouldn't be a nightmare, although for £7500 the mileage will be on the high side.
