If I had children, I would probably sell one of them to own this.

Haha

Bare in mind there is never 'one' car on a movie set. They probably had abount three or four, and some stunt cars, but who knows really. Still looks ace!

I do have a feeling that the car in the film was manual and not auto, could be wrong as not seen it for a while.

Might be an excuse to dig the movie out for a rewatch I seem to remember it being an Auto, but I could be wrong. Might give it a watch at the weekend.

apparently 12 were built for the film, 2 were detroyed and the other ten all varied to some extent due to what they were going to be used for,

The real question however, is if there is a 'go baby go' button

The company who built the original car for the movie still makes them. You can even order them in right hand drive,

Last time I was at the classic car show at the NEC there were a few "Eleanors" on show. None of them the real deal.

After the film, a few companies sprung up restoring and converting fastback Mustangs into replicas, those above will likely to be examples of these. Bear in mind that whilst a "real" GT Shelby fastback is very rare and worth a fortune...a 6 cylinder fastback wasn't worth anywhere near as much and nobody wants them either; But shoe in a v8 and stick on a fancy bodykit to make it into a film replica and suddenly that basic model fastback becomes very desirable and able to sell for a much higher price; especially when exported overseas to a dimwitted foreigner (non-American.)

Its the same old story with classic cars when it comes to humdrum models and their souped-up versions; MGB coupe; worthless. MGB V8 Roadster; worth at least £10K more. TR7; Worthless. TR8; Worth silly money. Series II E-type FHC; Meh! E-type Roadster (Series I,II or III); Kerching! Sierra 1.6GL 3door; wut? LOL! Sierra RS500; Dingdong! MK1 Escort 1.3; Yep. RS1800; Stupid money.

Just to prove my point - You don't even need to have a fastback for a doner car; http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Ford-Mu...odel%3AMustang

Amazing what you find on ebay LOL.
