Default Anybody any good with Porsches?

Looking to see if a 2008 911 / 996 carrera 2s exhaust (2 boxes and link pipe) will fit a 2002 carrera 4.

Some say yey and others nay, I'm looking for a left hand silencer (n/s) as ours is blowing, don't want to spend the earth as it's being chopped in against a new one next month and there is one on eBay at cheap money if it will fit our car.

Anybody?

2008 were 997's, so unlikely to fit a 996.
Different size engines.

But to be sure, get over to PH and ask in Porsche General.

One is a 3.8 the other a 3.6 but maybe it could be adapted.

Best to phone a specialist such as PCT at Autobahn in Coventry, they looked after my 997 when I had one.

Doubtful - 997 vs 996 (different engine)

The other site to check is www.911uk.com

They're not different engines actually. Depending on which model you have there were variations made to the engine to extract more power.

The S models had the M97 designation and the base models had the M96 designation. But down to the core dynamics they were mostly the same.

I've got a 997.1 2S, which I bought after selling my 2005 stage 1 STI. Anyone thinking of making a similar move, should definately go ahead as they are amazing machines and a great follow on car from a Scooby.

Should have qualified my statement with sizes and fittings. The block may be on a similar footing, but ancillaries such as exhausts aren't cross compatible.

It would be advisable just to buy the right thing wouldnt it ?

You dont want to give that engine any reason to throw itself into a ball of shyte.
