Chap I've used for detailing posted some pics up of his latest work. I have never been a fan of caymans but wow this looks sublime in white (I hope this link works as via Facebook):

I'm seems they have to hold back with each new Cayman otherwise it would overtake the 991. In fact i would guess as much as saying that the 911 is holding back the rest of the range which seems like a silly thing to say when the new 991 is so good. I wounder when the time will come that the 911 can no longer keep up with the competition due to the limitations of the rear engine and Porsche will have change things round, ie go mid engine.

I quite like the new Cayman, and the GTS looked really appealing.
However, reading EVO car of the year, they say it's too long geared. Third gear is good for 110mph. So you can only really wring it's neck in first & second on a twisty back road.

The gearing is a bit cack tbh.
There in lies the problem - pdk is arguably better but is it better for an occasionally used car?
I'm not so sure, and it's the only thing that spoils it for me.
With regards to the engine in the 911 - it's been slowly moving forward in its position with each new incarnation of the car.

I was talking to a friend who has a 997 911 about the engine position and he reckoned in the new 991 911's it isn't far off being mid engined in its weight distribution. He reckoned there's only 2% difference in weight distribution to an R8. Anyone in the know agree with this?

I love the new Cayman, I think in a way it is the modern 911 given its relatively compact size compared to the enormous current 911.
Some will think this a strange thing to point out, but it's a shame they don't give the option of a sunroof on the Cayman! That would make it the perfect car for me!
