Warning
Just thought I would warn anyone who has the sticker accross the top of there windscreen that I have just been stopped tonight at Samlesbury (M6 J31) and fined and was on about taking my car off me as it is illegal. even though one traffic cop who was fueling up never said a thing and have had my car stickered up for about 3 years and not been stopped once. must of been a really bored copper, he wouldn't even give me a warning just said you are having a ticket. So be on the luck out.

Depends on the size of your sticker, if its within the shaded area then they dont normally do anything, if its below this then your intruding into your view and they can and do do you for it.

it was just at the top of the screen just in the wiper zone it was no where near my view but it as just one of them coppers with an attitude and then again probably did't like it as he thought i was another boy racer so it took me 3 hours to get it off because i did't have a heat gun after 3 years i cant believe i got told to get it taken off or lose my car so there it goes they win again

you gotta laugh eh?! - they have a forum to ask each other what the law is
fair enough there's plenty of different ones and some are open to interpretation but if you're gonna go nicking someone for something I would've thought it'd be a good start to know the particular law you intend to cite
Personally I've had a sunstrip on mine for ages and intend to have a new one fitted soon too. It's not large enough to need it's own postcode or anything but it probably would've annoyed the officer that the OP had grief with.

I can't believe it, what a joke. I wish the one that did me didn't know the law lol I also spoke to the man in charge on the phone to complain about the way this officer handled it and even he said he expected his officers to have abit of disscresion and he was going to have a word with the officer who did me. So I will be expecting to be pulled a few more time's now as that would of wound him up when he finds out I complained, but had to have the last word lol
lol That did cross my mind
I was even thinking that if the copper was going to take my car because I couldn't get it off I was going to put my windscreen in as it would be cheaper to replace than pay the police for there recovery and storage but after all the explaining about if I had an accident or ran somebody over I would be done due to my vision being inpaired he let me drive it home ?????
