Another Derbyshire born Lancastrian signing in

Whatever you do, don't go in person to TEG as they will get you spending a fortune on all their superb goodies ...you have been warned

Question

Gary,
I have just found a thread (31564) you replied to on brake pads.
You mentioned that in your opinion EBC green stuff was one of the best pads available
You also mentioned they cost £35 - £40 for a MY99.
Now as you probably understand, me being a tight fisted Northerner, I wouldn't like to pay over the odds, so - Could you please advise where you get them from at that price.
Many Thanks in advance
Chris

Damn that must have been a while ago!!

I never actually fit green stuff to my MY99 as at the time they didn't do them I went for Mintex 1155s, which I did get for c£50 from TAS Motorsport in Leyland (close to where I live so saved on carriage - fellow tightfisted northerner ) But can be got from a variety of places - just have to barter hard They also supplied very good Bremsport discs which survived some serious track abuse without fading - all for less than £170 discs + pads Throw another £40 at braided lines and DOT5.1 fluid and you have painful stopping power, and brakes that lasted longer (ie more laps) than the tyres (SO2s) did on track!!

That being said, I sold the Impreza over 2 years ago, so some things will have moved on..including no doubt the price

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Gary - much appreciated.
Just trying to jump on the back of a group buy for Mintex 1144's at the moment, but will try TAS Motorsport if needs be.

Thanks again

Thumbs up

Chris,
If you're not too bothered about price Town End Garage do a very good price on Pagid Blues for cash, a lot cheaper than anyone else I've seen, plus the top for stopping.

Nice one Rusty,
Used to spend every weekend in Silverdale as a kid and I'd visit TEG on my bike rides into Carnforth.
There were no Scoobs then, just a sweet old dear fleecing me for some toffees - sounds as if she's still there
