Probably.
I only spotted this this morning. Not good.
Thoughts go out to the aircrews families, not quite Afghan, but still far from home for them.

No probably because the public or an Oil company wasn't involved.

With it being the forces the media will most likely be kept in the dark so they are on to a non starter, no point reporting something that can't be milked to death for an easy story is there.

By next week it won't be an American chopper.
By next year, no chopper will have come down.
Within two years, the Americans were never there......

The USA.....what a joke.

Exclusion zone ..... because it was carrying live bullets?

I'm sorry people died ..... but, there is much more to this ..... the coroner will be leaned upon to release the scene to the USAF.

What was it carrying, really??

You will note an almost complete news blackout about it .........

There were two helicopters on the marsh near to Salthouse. The undamaged one wasn't the one that crashed, it was the 400 yard long skid mark covered in bits next to it that did. They can't move the undamaged one as it will blow debris from the crash all over the place.

The Dun Cow, the pub in all the headline BBC 1 News reports from the scene (where have you lot been?) is very nice incidentally.

It was in a million bits on the picture I saw.
I think the evening standard must have pictured another helicopter which was at the scene.

Nik.

The photo I've seen shows the wreckage in the foreground and a second helicopter in the background.

Yep, Your right, thought it a bit odd

Did not realise the image in the foreground was the wreckage, it looked like a weapons system in the pic

I will have to stop the production of my amateur youtube conspiracy video - which is a shame as it was looking quite convincing

Since the main role of Pavehawks is combat search & rescue, I very much doubt they were carrying anything more serious Pete

Personally I think they were probably carrying out low level flight excersises and one of them encountered one or more members of the local airborne population

My thoughts are with the families

10 people die on our roads every day and we don't feel the need to comment on that either. It's very sad for those involved, but **** happens I'm afraid.

Seem to be lots of comments when a Scooby was involved the other day before Christmas..

" one of our own" type comments..

Forces chopper, for many of us that too is one of our own!!!!! Hence why I felt the need to comment.

Two seater private plane ditched the other day... Now that i did not feel I needed to comment on....

Each to their own I guess...

Let hope the **** doesn't happen to you one day and no one comments

Maybe it will, who knows though, unless I go in spectacular fashion I am sure I will get no comments.

On the subject of choppers we actually flew in one that went down a few weeks later killing all 5 occupants, guess I was just lucky.
