Default Driving another car with your insurance

my neighbour came around and said he wanted to borrow his brothers car for a short trip,my neighbour has insurance where you car drive another car 3rd party.the neighbours car has mot,insurance but sorned his car end of november,does anyone know if he has to be fully legal or will it invalid his insurance? cheers guys

You can't drive a sorned car on the road, my mate thought you could and had his car seized, the insurance would be invalid on the road. Why is it sorned? no road TAX?

Oh, don't forget that he might have 3rd party cover to drive other vechicles but only if the other vechicle is insured.

i didnt make my post to clear(im not with it-got man flu)

the car he wants to borrow is all legal

neighbours car isnt taxed(got insurance and 3rd party to drive others) so wonderd if he was still legal to drive another car

Yes, as long as the car he intends to drive is insured/not registered to him and has road tax and of course MOT is applicable.

Scary isnt it. You could be insured on a 1.1 metro with 3rd party on another car and take daddys bently for a spin!

A lot of insurers are removing this feature (so check paperwork carefully) to avoid above as loads of Bradford boys do it lol
