70s rock weekend
Tonight I have tickets for Slade and Sweet in Bournemouth and Sunday night its up to Birmingham to see Black Sabbath..rock on
..Any other fans here?

Saw Sabbath back in the 70's and they were ****e, I think mainly down to Ozzy being off his head all night.

A colleague went to see Black Sabbath in Belfast last week, he had waited 37 years for the opportunity, and was not disappointed.

Twas 75 when I saw them, so with all the practice they should be pretty good by now. Iommi is brilliant anyway.

I saw Slade at the Flamingo in Hereford in the early seventies fantastic ! So bloody loud.
I still love their music now,takes me straight back to that night when I hear it playing.

It's amazing to think that 40 years down the line Slade's Xmas hit earns them over £1/2m every year in royalties.

a lot but not 500K, my father-in-law is very good friends with Noddy and had lunch with him this tuesday, I asked him about that figure and he said "no not that much"

oh it is - 6 figures
but Noddy wrote it with someone else, so it will be 50/50 split anyway
(writers get the lions share btw, the rest of the band will get much much less)
