Anyone got a TW Steel chronograph watch?
I bought a TW Steel Chronograph watch from Amazon (CE1029) It is from Amazon and not "fulfiled by XXX" so from Amazon itself.
How should the hands move? The seconds hand should only go round when the chronograph button is pressed, yes?
The watch fiends amongst us will berate me terribly for buying from Amazon I'm sure but I wasn't sure how to check authenticity - what paperwork should be in the box?

I'm not even 100% I like it. I went for the smaller size but I still think its a bit too big. Its why I got it from Amazon. It looks genuine to me (What do I know) but at least I can back it within 7 days without a big fuss.

Well without meaning to be a watch snob, I think TW Steel's are very overpriced for what they are, considering they use very cheap standard quartz movements and you would expect them to have sapphire glass for the price too! For the price of the TW you could get a nice automatic Hamilton or Tissot as an alternative, or save a little more for a U-Boat if that's your style.

Authenticity? Serious?
On a chronograph the 'second' hand will only go around when you are using the chrono/stopwatch function. Each timed minute will be recorded on a second register which usually counts up to 30 or 60 minutes. A small constantly operating second hand will be found on the other register.
If its the black and orange monstrosity then the second hand is a six o'clock with the minute register counting up to 60 minutes at nine o'clock. The third register at three o'clock is a rather pointless 24hr indicator so that you can tell whether its 9 at night or nine in the morning (without looking out of the ****ing window!).
TW Steel really are over-priced over-sized tat! I read recently that theyre moving to quartz models only, making them evem less worthwhile.
Caveat emptor.

Apparently U-boats are no different, I was talking to a friend a recent dinner party (bit of a *** if I am honest)
Anyway he said he had a big U-Boat watch and when it inevitably went wrong he out of curiosity, took the back off and was surprised to see in this cavernous watch a tiny looking generic cheap bit of electronic watch movement

It's a 45. My wrists are small so the 45 does look big. It's much bigger than my code blue traser.
I paid 225 from amazon. Wasn't spending 400+.on a watch I wasn't 100% on.

Surely if it ticks it.s quartz, if it sweeps (usually in very small ticks), it automatic?!
Not a fan of huge watches - my favourite (maybe one day) is the 42mm black Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. Absolutely love that watch!
