Do they not have a clause in the T&Cs that allows them inflation linked rises and anything else a change of contract letting you leave when you want. Then play them off against sky - I'm about to do the opposite as Sky want £50 to install fibre broadband but virgin's is faster, cheaper and installed for free

Cancel your contract if you don't think it is worth the money, simples.

My 120mb will still be cheaper than Bt iffinity so don't see the problem, an extra £2.50 a month will not bother me

It's only an increase for broadband only packages, no increase for broadband + tv, or broadband + tv + phone packages.

Rang them up on receipt of my letter and threatened to leave. Magically they've given me a £3 month discount for 24 months!

well when i got the email i said i wanted to terminate but their telephone person said i couldnt as still under contract.

I then read the small print and called back today and after being on hold twice for a total of 45 minutes they have agreed to hold the price as signed for when taking the contract out.

so if they have tried uping the price for anyone else the trick is to try to leave and they should offer a discount but be prepared for a long wait on the phone!

I've still not read any news around this, you'd expect a lot of the forums and news sites to be buzzing about 11% .. one site reports it and Ive never heard of them ..

So you still have to pay line rental if you have a phone package with VM? I am sure back in the day when it was NTL that was one of the benefits of Cable over a BT line?

Not that it matters to me as no access to either in my village.
