Worst accident caught on camera?
Jeeezz..Don't watch it if you don't have the nerve (no body parts or blood etc), but body flying few meters up..

You can skip to around 2 min mark.
Would not like to know what that feels like..

I think more people need to see this especially the younger generation, especially the ones who treat our roads like race tracks, it's tragic that a life can end so quickly after just one mistake, I suppose when people drive like that they forget about the risks and especially with the crowd encouraging them, Do drivers do that over here, I know we have boy racers etc but I've never see anyone do that, especially with the condition of out roads with all the pot holes and speed bumps etc.

Yeah, most cars pass by, as they either don't want to get involved, or get to their destination without any hold-up, or don't want to be traumatised. Then there's that weird type that rushes to such scenes not to help or do any professional work, but just to take photos of the horror as their hobby. Strange but true. A past work colleague's father was like that.

Holy moly! I watched a couple of those. Shocking!
People driving minding their own business, not driving recklessly or in a dangerous manor and wham! Out of no where you get hit by some loon coming the other way. Very sad.
The one hit by the truck coming the other way makes me think that it could so easily be my family in a situation like that, getting caught up in something completely out of your control. Scary!

Knowing I had no chance of getting to the car, I drove to the next emergency phone and spoke to the operator. Having never used such a phone in the past I was pleased I had used it rather than my mobile. The conversation when something like this,
Me, "A car has crashed in to the central reservation about 1/4 mile back from me"
Op, "hang on a few seconds, I'll just get you on camera........"
Op, "right, got you, let me take a look, ah yes got it"
Op, "do you know if anyone is hurt and how many people were in the car?"
Me, "don't know, but it hit the barrier at quite a pace"
Op, "Okay, police and ambulance on the way, thanks for calling"
At this point a lorry and two other cars had also pulled up on to the hard shoulder and a discussion was going on between one of the car drivers and the lorry driver, who was from Europe. It turned out the the lorry driver changed lane and clipped the car, which caused it to spin out of control and crash.
I hung around for a while, but as I wasn't directly involved and didn't actually see the contact which triggered the crash I left my card with the car and lorry driver and left the scene, and the phone op had my details anyway.
Later in the afternoon, TV Police rang, the conversation going something like,
Plod, "Hi, are you ^Qwerty^ who stopped on the M25 today to report an accident; you left you business card with the car and lorry driver"
Me, "Yes, that was me"
Plod, "well I'd just like to say thank you for stopping and reporting the accident. The driver of the car was a lady, 8.5 months pregnant, we airlifted her to hospital"
Me, "you don't have to say thank you, it was nothing"
Plod, "ah well, down here mate, everyone is in such a rush and their meetings are so important, they don't have time to stop at accidents or anything like that, anyway, we had to close the motorway to land the helicopter, so no doubt more annoyed people who think their meeting is more important than a life "
Me, "well anytime, is she okay by the way"
Plod, "yes, just in shock, but we had to get her to hospital quickly, so thanks again for stopping"
I was actually shocked at what he told me, no doubt the situation is even worse now with people being so far up their own *****, nobody else matters, I really can't imagine myself driving past an accident which has just occurred.

Good on you and that's what normal humans would do, I think. I was just informing about about a different type of humans e.g. a writer called Andrew Miller who is fascinated with morbidity. I haven't read any of his material but a feature in the Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/books/201...ller-interview hints what he's obsessed with. I'm not sure if he photographs dead corpses, disfigured people in pain, scattered limbs and damaged vehicles with death written all over them for hobby, but there are some people out there who do it.
