Alton Towers
Just back from our annual trip to the towers. Great day as always, don't bother with the que's as the missus won't do it So no more than a 5 minute wait for most rides. Rita is still up there as a good favourite, just ends a bit to soon. The new ride "the smiler" was pretty good to, lasts a lot longer than everything else and I'd say lives up to its hype well. Great little roads of the way back to

Did you get a fast track pass then? I've always considered it but don't know how much it costs and there must be some catch with it?
I went a couple months ago with a group of friends on a random Tuesday before the summer holidays and it was still pretty busy. We couldn't have picked a better day but still ended up queing 20-40 mins for most rides, which thinking about it now isn't too bad. Qued 2 and half hours for The Smiler though in the baking heat. I didn't feel it was worth the long que.... 30 mins yes, not 2 and half hours though!

Yeah bought the fast track passes, think it was £15 for 3 rides. They do different groups of rides per £15 so we got thirteen, Rita and Oblivion and then the smiler which was £7 on its own. Yes it's pricey but like I said the missus hates queuing so needs must! Don't envy your 2 and a half hour wait!

I was a bit pissed off this year too.
Went in term time and yet still had to queue even for the bloody monorail.
The smiler was good, but waited 2 1/2hrs.
Oblivion and thirteen both shut.
But of a **** take which the amount they charge.

These are the reasons I've never been to Alton Towers, I've not got the patience too queue that long.

You dont really have a choice but to queue when you have driven 102miles to get there and their website doesnt mention any rides being closed!

Just go and drive around the Paris Boulevard Périphérigue and around the Place Charles de Gaulle (Arc de Triumph) at rush hour. It's a proper white knuckle ride without the queues.

Last few times we've been have been a day mid week, during term time and late September/Early October. Longest we had to wait for any of the rides was around 10 mins & at some points in the day you could just get off the ride, walk back round to entrance and get back on again. Must have been on Rita/Nemesis/Air about four times each during the day. Best way to do it

We've just done legoland with the kids...
Average time for each ride 1hr so thats 7 rides in one day (its almost 45 mins to get in lol )
Or you can stump up upto another £70 for a queue jumping thingumy
wouldnt be so bad, but for all the time your in the queue, you cant do sod all, no entertainment, nothing .....
Many people were leaving the queues on most rides as 90mins wait times in some cases was ridiculous

I don't understand all this hype about these rides. Places like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park make so much money with these things, and why people like my kids get such joy from feeling dizzy is beyond me.
I once took my family to Alton Towers. Mr. T and my children went on every ride possible, and came off giggling their teeth out. Oblivion was the worst! My kids and Mr. T just disappeared in a hole underground, I stood around there like a spare part with my heart thumping in my mouth! After a minute or so, the trio suddenly appeared smiling out of roses, and I thanked heavens for it. Phew! I think I went on only one non-sickly ride with them where the benches move side to side on scary boohoohoo sounds, and it was shoite. All I liked was the iced coffee there, rest was just utterly boring for me.

And you seem to be a bell end or is it bellend? I'm pretty sure I've not done anything in the past to upset you, we can leave it be, or carry on like kids???? Your choice.
