Default Good Leather shoes for around £100

Anyone recommend a good make for around £100?

I need to get some formal shoes in the next few days but having no interest in them I have no idea what makes are good. I have previously bought
Clark shoes (£40) - rubbish, last less than a year.
Russel and Bromley - (£125), ok but nothing special - lasted 2 years, and
Ecco - (£60 off amazon) very impressed. 2 years old and they look as good a they did when I bought them.

I would have got some more Ecco but I cant find any style I like so need to find another make thats as good for similar money. Any ideas?

I use M & S shoes for work. They seem to last for ages, my last pair about 5 years of daily use.

Yep, great shoes, properly made. They last ages too. Decent smart shoes do need a fair bit of breaking in though.

Don't know if they do them National but George Rye shoes are excellent but will set you back a bit more than £100. I know friends who have had the brogues from them for over 15 years.

Lol, I think your in for a bit of a shock at how quickly the dr martins will become like walking on ice and wear through/puncture, you'll be lucky if you get 6 months out of them and they will be useless come winter.

I bought a sweet pair of shoes from Jones, Avelino italian made for £60, reduced from £299, they pass their previous years stock onto a warehouse no frills type shops that I think they also own, there is one in the Broad marsh centre in nottingham, and they have pretty much everthing they have in the "prime location" high street shops.

Worth the trip even if your from out of town.

+1 Jones. Quite like Barker shoes - have owned 2 pairs of these for over 10 years, although not worn every day.

Well I went into a Jones store today and picked up these (they look a lot better in real life than in the pictures). They feel a little tight at the moment but I am using some stretchers to 'ease' them out a bit and then they should be fine. The quality were the best I found for £80.

They had Loakes that I liked but they were 50% more and to be honest I couldnt justify spending the extra. Thanks to those who helped and especially to those who recommended Jones.
