Oh, Crap!
Some of you may remember that we keep Tortoises.
We had a Male and Female Tunisian Spurthighed - these grow to about 200mm and weigh 500g at adult.
They were about 25 years old last year when the female died.
The wife was upset, so, in October 2012 our daughter bought us another ..... it's a baby and growing very fast. Was the size of a 50p last October, now about 120mm long.
It had a mark on one of its legs so we took it to the Reptile Vet this afternoon, the Vet took one look and said, "Do you know what you have got there?" ...... us, "Yes, it's a Tunisian Spurthighed".
"No, it's not" he said, "It's the worlds largest continental Tortoise", "It will grow rapidly to 1 metre in length and be 100kg's at least"!
"It needs 1/4 of an acre space and concrete wallls to contain it, it will crash straight through wood fences, you won't be able to stop it ....... and it will live 100 years plus"
Holy Crap!! Even Zoos are not large enough for them ...... ****!!

Put a saddle on it and use it as a mobility scooter?
On a more serious note, I had a elderly customer who had a tortoise that lived in the garden/ house. She told me the story that her daughter had bought it for her as a gift in the 1940's and she'd looked after it ever since!
Tim.

Why the **** do you want a tortoise at all for???
Does it snuggle up on your knee? Do they fetch a ball? Do they guard the house when youre out? Cant see the point at all.
Get rid of them,
