Dont worry and enjoy it. If you read what everyone said then you would never buy a car .
There is no such thing as the perfect car .
Then again there is no such thing as a bad turbocharged impreza, as we all know .
You can of course get pretty close though.
The P1 is not a bad car just maybe a touch on the expensive side compared to say a standard UK impreza, which everyone knows is great value for money. If you fully prodrive a UK impreza then they look like great value.
Like I say enjoy it and dont worry about it.
Cheers

Agreed chrisp, the P1 is a lovely car, as is my STi. The magazine jurnos have their opinion... we all have ours. Arron, you know you have a good car, what else matters??? I know I have a good car and I enjoy it. We will all be defensive about our choices... human nature I guess. Chrisp's chilled manner just highlighted to me how overboard this has all got. How old are we?

Well I'm afraid it must be true. Listen to the words of that famous motoring journalist Alexei Sayle who had a P1 for a whole weekend, ref June CAR.
Quote "But when you pay over thirty grand for a motor car I reckon you want to create a bit of a frisson when you drive past or stop for petrol. You want to gain the admiration of people you dont know. With the Subaru you gain the admiration of people you dont want to know"
I say what a waste of a good car!!

Dont worry about what anybody says, at the end of the day you buy the car for yourself not anybody else ? I have a UK car, and its apparently ****e compared to STi's but i dont care, i like it and thats all that matters to me ?

So Arron you're offering me a Mondeo estate instead of a P1. Let me think about that one How many miles has it done?
Well Ian, I cant wait to take delivery of my UK spec import next month, even if it is sh*** compared to the STi. It just has to be better than the car I drive now!!!!.

Certainly true that you buy a car for yourself, but would that be to massage the old ego, and for a bit of one-upmanship, or to actually drive? I'm detecting a worrying amount of the former in ARRON's P1 threads.
ARRON - from your numerous threads, you seem to be pretty keen on making sure that everybody and anybody here knows you are getting a P1, and is aware of your "superior" decision making abilities - have you considered TV and newspaper advertising as well

GCOLLIER I dont think you understand me.
Yes I like to voice my opinion as much as anybody but I`m not buying aP1 to gain any admiration or I¬M BETTER THAN YOU effect!
Im buying it for ME.
I hope this puts that point straight.
I am interested to hear what other P1 owners think of their cars thats all and I dont need to massage my ego either (mind you my sore bollox could do with something)
If I was completly honest for the now £33k I`m paying for a P1 I think that a BMW 330csi with all the bits is a mutch more refined VALUE FOR MONEY CAR, but for now i`ll stick to the less refined and more performance option!
If you read my threads and feel that I am being unreasonable then I would be the first to appologise!
A bit of FRIENDLY banter is always a laugh but some people on here take things a little to seriously for me.

I'm filling up.
Aaron I made an early post 'P1 Hype or Tripe', I am a WRX owner, yes it gets on my gonad5 that my warranty is pants and you do get the Maxpower brigade 'Giving it the large'.
I am interested as you are to find out what the real drivers think of the P1 and not Alexi Sayle (how crap has 'Car' got, what a waste of a perfectly good opportunity to give some real feed back, I felt like asking the newsagent for my money back)and yes you don't buy a P1 for status (GColier I've said it before and I'll say it again, smarten yourself up' Joke).
Just enjoy your P1 and know that some people are jealous as well.

Arron,
If you are sooooo p**sed off, why don't you tell us what you would buy for £30K that would offer eveything a P1 would.
And I don't mean an STi5. As I've mentioned elsewhere they are not to be compared...
I cannot see anything else...
Rob.

Rob, if I was honest then the new BMW 330 csi looks a pretty impressive bit of kit and I only wish Subaru had the same build quality as a Beemer.
But the performance is`nt on par with a P1.

Have to agree with you there.
BMW looks very nice, performance not quite up there, build quality better that Subaru but seems to be slipping of late...
Not much else out there though eh??
Subaru have just hit the nail spot on.
