Another TV rant!
How dumb are we getting?Does everyone now have a memory retention of less than 3 minutes?
This is what I am on about.
Many programmes now have a 'Coming up' section just before the ad break & then after just a 2-3 minute ad break another 'Coming up' piece showing the same thing as before then the programme continues.
It drives me mad.Not just the sheer inanity of it but really I would rather not know as I am watching the bloody programme anyway & would possibly be pleasantly surprised by what I see.
Can you imagine watching a film or reading a book with a break every so often telling you what is about to happen.

Yes, it's the UK "pap" TV programmes that are mostly to blame.
They seem to have about five minutes footage during a half-hour show that is actually WORTH watching. hey save it until last, but keep reminding you it's coming up, so you will grind through the rest of the "pap" they serve up.
Can ANYONE old enough to remember when there were very few channels, actually imagine that we would end up watching things like coppers on the beat, customs officers, bailiffs, and reality TV???????
the problem is that there are now hundreds of channels, but the decent content being made has remained the same, so it's spread VERY thin.
Result: hours and hours of "pap" TV interspersed with LOTS of repeats, and a VERY few new things worth watching........
