Wembley Stadium back to Kings Cross ? Time ?
Next weekend I will be at Wembley Stadium (first visit) for the Capital Cup Final. I need to get back to Kings Cross to get the train home so will use Wembley Park and the Metropolitan line. With thousands of people all doing the same thing what is a rough "guesstimate" of how long it takes from leaving the stadium in thousands to getting back to Kings Cross ?
Cheers
Brian.

TBH I'd rather watch paint dry or crown green bowls than a mid table league two side....Swansea have to be favourites to win after they beat Chelsea?
Maybe their will be entertainment an we will get to see more ball boys getting stamped on? Or even better the flood lights go off and the match gets abandoned?
Flick a coin to see who wins...I don't care

For my sins I've been to every England match there since it reopened in 2007! There's an art to getting away quickly from the place even if you stay till the final whistle. It largely depends on where you're sitting, which level 1, 2 or 5 and which block as some exits are quicker and better sited for getting out to ground level.
As a rough guide, its quickest to get back to Wembley Park from the north west corner of the stadium as you can avoid the ramps down to wembley way by taking the stairs outside the stadium by the arena and cutting across at ground level. Anywhere on the north side is better situated to going to Wembley Park tube but try and avoid the ramps and use stairs down to ground level if you can (at either end of the stadium).
On a good day (with trains running ok) you should be able to make it to Kings Cross in less than 30 minutes. The important thing is to get past the first row of horses in Wembley Way that they use to stop overcrowding at the tube station. Once past there stick to the right as the crowd always seems to move quicker that side and when up the stairs and in the station you can walk around a lot of the people needlessly queueing over to the left. Try and get an Aldgate train which runs through to Kings Cross (aim for the front of the train as you exit the tube at Kings Cross at the front).
Being a cup final have you allowed for extra time and penalties? If you stay for the trophy presentation the losing set of fans will be out and in the queue in front of you
too.
Any questions feel free to ask. Enjoy!

Just a thought after looking at maps ....
How sensible is it to walk up to Wembley North Overground station and get the overground train to Euston and then just walk up the 500m of Euston Rd to KX ?
Perhaps slightly fewer people and less queue/waiting ?
Thanks
Brian.

Block 543 is perfect for getting away past the arena, across Engineers Way and up to Wembley Park.
You hear a lot of people moaning about getting away from Wembley but it is pretty quick these days. I've been to several finals there and have been for a celebratory pint afterwards and by the time you walk to Wembley Park the queues have died down.
