Completely natural. A little stress will improve your performance. Enjoy the new job.

Through no choice of my own I found myself unemployed in 2008 at 24. I was lucky enough to get through 6 stages of application and onto a Tata steel engineering apprentice. I started in September 2009 and came out of my time September gone. Total change of career (if you call nights in a warehouse a career) and being dismissed was the best thing that happened to me!

You've done the hard part , handing in your notice and leaving a job you know ,in order to move forward and up
Anyone who does that has got something about em and it takes bit of bottle to step into the relatively unknown
I've no doubt you'll be fine , good luck mate

Don't worry about it
I was a senior manager for 24years and got my redundany and took a basic salesmans job on half the salery and love the change of position although it was in the same industry
Be positive
Write everything down for the first month and take as much reading material home to study so you learn the new job quickly

Yup you will be fine, i changed careers after 10 years, then again after 10 years, I then changed back to the second career after 2 1/2 years out doing something else, a change is good and keeps you fresh plus it gives you strength.

Good luck!!

Good luck! Give yourself time to get settle in and I'm sure you won't look back.

I need to find a new direction/job/career but there is nothing I want to do.
How have people found that motivation/enthusiasm for change?

If you work for a **** company for long enough then it doesn't take much encouragement to leave.

I'd been at my last job since June 2002, worked my last shift there on Christmas Eve last year. Haven't done a thing since.

Medical on Tuesday so I can get the HGV provisional entitlements on my license, and see how it goes from there.

I was lucky enough to enjoy my job so much that I never considered changing it.

I did the same 18 months ago, moving on from a company I had been with for 12 years. It will always take time to settle in and find your feet - persevere for at least 6 months if not longer. Good luck!

Like any first day, you'll probably think about doing a runner and think you've done the wrong thing lol. You'll be fine...

I did this and after 3 years at college I came out with top qualifications (not being big headed it was something I worked hard at) and couldn't get a job. Being older they don't want to pay the higher minimum wage compared to a 16 year old. If you know you are going to get a job then go for it but unfortunately it seems age and maturity go against you.
College was one of the best experience's of my life and enjoyed every day of it. But unfortunately it hasn't got me any further than I was before.

Don't want to put you off but just something for you to think about
