Unhappy Bucket seats....and lard asses!

So many nice cars these days, let down second hand by nice seats with totally crushed side bolsters and seat bolsters.

It can only be down to some fat person sitting in a seat which is totally unsuitable for them.

Can they even have been comfortable?

The more supportive the seats, the worse they seem to be........

Is it not more to do with the way people get in and out of them?

I struggle to get comfy in most sporty seats. Yet I find my very non sporty BM and van seats to be super comfortable.
So I prefer sofa seats!

VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda seats collapse, just like the rest of the car. My Subaru seats were like new after 3 years of my fat ****, but both my Corrado and current Fabia have both worn through and broken bolsters. The wifes Octavia seat is dodgy too.

Seats are cheap these days so who cares? They are even cheap to buy as no one wants to pay top dollar!

I suffer with back pain, where do I go to get relief? The nice comfy leather bucket seat in my Aerodeck. A ten minute drive around relieves the pain nicely in the very supportive seat.
Right hand side bolster leather is cracking with age but the support is still solid.

My Classic Wagon had a hole in the right upright bolster when I sold it due to rubbing when getting in or out.

Spoken to a dealer about this problem. he agrees with it being about how people get in and out, but also said it's relatively cheap to find an upholsterer and have it re-sponged.

A large city trader told me that he always chose a Porsche as they were designed for overweight fat assed Germans

Now I have never owned a Porsche so I can't vouch for this.

But my old 205 had excellent seats.
