Nantwich?
What's good to do in and around Nantwich? I'm going there this weekend as a spur of the moment thing. I'm getting on a bit, so don't suggest getting beer'd up or clubbing please

Salt museum is interesting in Northwich, not too far away from Nantwich.

Not sure what's open though.

Depends what you are in to really, the shops are geared more to older people IMO, there is a museum, the market, youve already said not pubs, but thats what its good for really, friday/saturday nights out, a few nice places to eat and drink, there is the canal to have a walk down and the Swimming Baths which has a salt water out door pool, wouldnt imagine its open this time of year though lol!
As above the church is nice if your in to that sort of thing.
Whats the reason for the visit?
you will struggle to get any free parking spaces so make sure you have change, although if you drive up past the Swimming baths there is a row of spaces on a gravel car park but thats normally full quite early, there are side streets if you can be bothered to walk.
If you are in to trains you could drive 5 mins dwon the road to Crewe station.
If you are more in to shopping there is Crewe town Centre and Grand Junction retail park in crewe or even Queens park for a walk round.

Yeah Nantwich.... Could have picked a better place to be fair. But a trip down the A500 gets you to Stoke and Hanley etc.. Plenty to do there :-) Or if you want Crewe perhaps?

Hanley is full of "one pint wonders" looking for a fight on a night out. Most of the women you wouldnt dare touch as you would end up in the "clap clinic". All in all its not a great place to go.
Go the other direction and head to Chester. Lots of things to see and do there.
