eBay cars...
I can't believe the trife on eBay.... Been looking for a second run around and I don't just see one and bid. I look at the sellers other cars, feed back and try to examine every pic closely...
One guy was selling 20 cars the ones without service history were serviced privately. I asked could he prove this on one car and he said no. - why advertise what you can't prove.
Another add - this was brilliant. Please knock £200 off your final bid as the car will have a fault I havent mentioned
I think eBay need to make it default all of the information in the top boxes -previous owners, mileage, mt etc rather then lettering the seller pic and choose info
I also think that all sellers need to be aware of the distance selling act. I hate reading the ones that say no refunds blah blah bah but they forget to mention the head gasket being blown. N my opinion with eBay, so many people are hiding something with the cars on there I will look at the car before handing over cash and if it's not like the add I'll walk away.

Nothing wrong with Ebay as long as you sort the wheat from the chaff.
If it's too cheap or too good to be true then it probably is.
If it sounds like a piece of crap then it probably is.
Take that lot away and there are plenty of other reasonable cars on there.
I bought a 2003 Volvo V40 with FVSH for less than £1k from a dealer on there a couple of months ago - great* car with no issues!
*as great as a Volvo V40 gets anyway

RobsyUK, get yourself over to www.uksaabs.co.uk and have a look in the for sale section. Usually one or two bargains around there

If you are able to service the car,why not do it and save a lot of cash.
I have been servicing them and rebuilding them for years now.
I certainly am quite happy to be one of "these people"

In more obvious terms there are far too many people who claim to be trained mechanics selling cars on ebay.
I would have a look at the rest of the advert and condition/age of car will be important but no service history is still a problem when it comes to be sold on. Plus you don't know if that means "I've changed the oil" or as they should have on a scooby done diff oils and gearbox at the correct intervals.
Price revised down accordingly and car left alone if there is no evidence of a belt change or other major service item.

I've sold around 15-20 cars on ebay and never encountered a problem, however i will never let anyone bid or make a offer without first seeing car and i always do the car a injustice so when someone view they are pleasantly surprised seems to work for me as i always get good money for them
