Please check yourself...update!!
A couple of you may recall my pleading post a couple of months ago to check yourselves regarding your moles and to keep an eye on them.
Hubby had his 2nd op today which went as well as it could in the circumstances. Just got to wait 4 weeks now for results.
I have seen another thread here recently where a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer. Once again, I beg people to please keep an eye on their moles etc....it's one of those cancers we can look for and help to detect ourselves. Especially check your partners in those areas they cannot see as you may help find something that needs looking at.
Happy checking peeps!!
Thanks for reading! Laura x

Last year I had an itchy little one on the side of my nose, right near the eye.
I asked THREE different doctors if I could have it removed, all said, "Oh, no, we'll leave that alone, too close to the eye."
While out in France, it has QUADRUPLED in size!!!!
Went on Monday, a different doctor says it could be skin cancer, now I'm waiting to see a consulatant

Thank you for the good advice Laura. I hope all goes well for your husband.
Having been through the cancer operation bit I realise only too well the importance of the earliest possible detection and action.
It is an easy check to get done and very important I reckon.

Anaesthetic, and took around 2 hours and that was around 10 years ago.
I had another one removed from my cheek around 2 years ago, lucky for me they were non-malignant, but if left unchecked would have just got bigger and spread.
I had the appearance of an ss officer for a while but now it's all healed over time so not as noticeable.

Its not just lumps and bumps...My dad's best mate died last week.
It all started about two years ago with a dodgy hip. Thought to be arthritus from an old injury. Went into surgery for a exploritory operation only for them to find a growth, a biopsy was taken which turned out to be cancer and they had to cut out a large section of his upper thigh.
Unfortunetly, despite chemo, it went on to spread to his back/spine. He died last week from pneumonia - a direct cause of his immune system being wrecked by the chemo.
