Default Dredd 3D

Saw it last night - loved it!

Forget about the iffy Stallone film this is the real Judge Dredd brought to life.

At the start i didn't think that Karl urban had the presence to carry off such an iconic role but he's really got to grips with the character and he really embodied the dredd character from the books.

Utterly badass!

I also saw this last night and completely agree, this is the Dredd I grew up with, Urban IS Dredd and Thirlby was great as Anderson. If you grew up with 2000AD and Dredd you will love this film.

The whole point of Dredd, is he is without mercy! As above, I was bought up on 2000AD and fookin' loved his character!!

That's why I hated that Stallone film (over half the movie he was out of uniform and not doing any baddass 'Judging'! Grrr. )

I've gotta watch it like hell!.....

You'll enjoy it.

Urban's clearly a fan as he's pulling classic Dredd expressions when dealing with perps and dishing out justice.

Totally agree, went to see it earlier today and loved it! Karl Urban played the character perfectly.

This version takes a massive **** all over the Stallone version!

Just watched it now ****ing awesome glad it was an 18 as it got all the grit, drama and bloody violence that was in the comic.
Awesome in 3D,loved the slo mo bits, thought the design of the bike, gun and uniform were great
Also liked the background references to other parts of 2000AD,couple I saw were the first block is called Sternhammer and the 'Chopper' graffiti.

Personally I think Rebellion should seize the moment and either start a Dredd sequel (Alex Garland has already mentioned a trilogy) or give the other characters from 2000AD a chance at big screen action.

I might go to the cinema for a change. I also found the Stallone film a disappointment, faffing around out of uniform and a poor plot. Wouldn't have pegged Urban for the role, but sounds like he has pulled it off.

Saw it last night Great in parts, well worth a watch but essentially it's just Die Hard in the future.

I read a few critic's reviews who had seen early screenings of dredd
and every single one of them said the same thing, that dredd was amazing

so I am really looking forward to seeing this movie
