Basic hose and joiner - simple silly question
So I want to join two hoses together which I think are about 19mm internal diameter. The joiner inner dia is 16 with a 1.5 body - so thats my 19mm and the one I need - yes?
Its for a car coolant system I'm slightly modifiying. I assume its ok to have a slightly smaller bore (the joiner) in the coolant system?

19 - 16 = 3
3/2 = 1.5
So you'll have 1.5mm 'concentric gap' all the way around the hoses and joiner. Quite a lot.... But the jubilee clips should be able to tighten no problem.
Just make sure you get the car upto temp then go for a test drive near to your house, to check for water-tightness...

Cheers, thought so. Just wanted to check before ordering the hose.
My Audi diesel has had its DPF and EGR valve removed but still has the EGR cooler. I have a blank plate for the exhaust port but need a way to join the two coolant hoses.

This is the joiner - it is quoted as 16mm inner dia with a 1.5mm wall.
One of these
Going in here.
At the back you can see two black pipes going into the metal thingy (cooler) Although they look like a 180degree would fit the top hose is actually angled. A 130 should be about right if I cut down the top hose. The really shiney bit under the cooler is the DPF delete pipe - looks a bit like a de-cat downpipe for a scoob.
