Ive corrected the link, sadly he passed away. For some reason if you put in the link that reports he died it goes back to the first report about him being critacally injured, a bbc glitch on there news page.

I'm confused too, it sounds like he was on a private airfield and they found the car upside down in a garden of a nearby house
Sounds like he was caning it way too much and as a result it has ended tragically

I agree unfortunately. Perhaps trying to give his son a thrill but didn't have the skill to back it up. Hopefully thought, for the family, it turns out not to be driver error.

It is sad, and I don't know the lad's driving history or ability, but unless he was some sort of motorsport genius, then hiring a Gallardo for a 21year old to drive is lunacy.
A tragic end to a stupid decision.

So, so sad. Really feel for the lad and the family.
As said an open top was perhaps not the best choice. In fact I bought my son a birthday present which was a skid pan lesson followed by a drive in a beaten up old Ferrari. The lad could drive it but with an instructor in the passenger seat.
