Vilest film you have ever watched
I have just watched Hostel and forgot just how vile that film is. :shudder:
Oh and I know it is a great, but "The Thing", Kurt Russell one, actually turned my stomach

Didn't really find Human Centipede that bad - I actually think the whole thing is a bit "tongue in cheek" which I suspect gets lost because its quiet shocking. "Fetch" was probably my favorite line
Would like to watch 2.
I've not watched a serbian film but I've read enough and seen screen grabs enough to know I probably dont' want to. Not that I'm squeamish or that it would bother me too much but its probably not what I would call entertainment.
I've seen a real life phone camera video of a man on the floor with another mans boot on his neck. Guy leans down, sticks a knife into the guys throat and yanks. That disturbed me for a few days.

Cant say ive seen a realy vile film,
Some very clever and very good special effects ones mentioned.
The 80's was a groundbreaking time for SFX, as the 2000's is for CGI
If your talking gore, then lots of films from the "video nasty era" would fit,
Evil dead,
I spit on your grave
Driller killer
You could take a look at some of the Zombie films of that era, they started to become progressivly more flesh based
Other strange but "odd" films
Man eats dog, as mentioned.
Videodrome, a hidden oddity
Reanimator, very clever, but rarely seen these days
Brazil, another oddity
You could try "scanners" another 30 year old film, that still has the capacity to make people jump today lol

Hmm, maybe not horror but one film I have no intention of watching which is really gruesome is "A Serbian Film". Details on Wikipedia but I warn you, it ain't nice! Banned in most countries.
Once I read about the "new-born ****" baby scene I really thought the film had crossed the lines of any decency. Hense why I have no intention of watching it, regardless of my curiosities.
For me, reading about the guy helping a woman give birth and then proceeding to rape the newborn baby - nah I don't wanna watch that kinda stuff. Adults doing **** to other adults I can stomach but children is beyond my sensible line of film enjoyment
I came across it on Wikipedia a few months ago. I was looking on the horror movies thread and decided to look for banned films via Wikipedia. Came across 'A Serbian Film' on said banned list and read about it that way. That's when I decided I wanted nothing to do with watching it, uncut or not.
When I look up films which have say been banned or are talked about as being shocking, I like to read a rough synopsis or plot. Not to spoil the impending but to see if indeed the shocking nature is within my personal limits. I can deal with films like "The Human Centipede", "Gorutesque" and the suh like. Hell, I may even (dare I say it) enjoy a really shocking movie, but as mentioned above, as soon as pedophilia, incest and the such are involved... it loses my interest. Raping a new born baby is not shocking (well it is), it's sick and beyond a reasonable limit. If say "A Serbian Film" had the scenes of torture or rigar mortis (sp) but not the baby rape or dad raping his own sons anus to the point of heavy rectal bleeding; then yeah curiosity may have seen me watch it on my computer or when I'm alone. My Mrs knows I like gorey horror films but she doesn't, and I sure as hell wouldn't put something like that on infront of my son.
So, COB, did curiosity finally get the better of you? Or did you mis-read the title? Perhaps you simply omitted 'I haven't actually seen this film' from your post. What's it to be?

I saw a serbian film last saturday funnily enough. Yeah its pretty horrific, but nowhere near as bad as you think its going to be. To be honest it was a bit of a let down.
I mean Hostel, Human Centipede (And 2), Serbian film are all pretty grim - But they are only films.
Actually I think the one that really made me think "ooo nasty" was Antichrist.

All you've said before, in fact you've said it several times, is that despite your curiosity you've not watched this film. The thread title is "Vilest film you have ever watched" to which you've replied "A Serbian Film". Now, I'm confused, as you previously stated:

Nope, still haven't seen it, just stills on the internet. Misread the thread title if it makes you feel superior.

Hostel is a great film, completely flips over the cliche of American college kids going to the US to drink and exploit the local women.
Hostel 2 isn't as good and the castration scene is a big much lol.
