The only thing i find a bit annoying about his tv programmes is in a real survival situation,you wouldn't go running about climbing into caves etc using up your body's energy,or possibly risked being injured from fooling around.One of the many things i was taught in survival was to conserve your energy,but i am assuming he is doing it more for tv excitement..

Climbing Everest at 23 is all pose and aesthetic is it?
I very much doubt whether Everest gives a sh*te how well connected or rich you are; it's claimed the lives of people from all walks!
Tell you what though, post your achievements and let SN decide who's the better man!
You may not like him -you're perfectly entitled to your opinion on him as a person- but there can be no legitimate detracting from his achievements, to say otherwise is ill informed snipping from behind a keyboard!

Oh please he was in the territorials. People go up Everest all the time, have you see how much rubbish is littered about the place? It's a leisure activity assuming one is in reasonable fitness.
That assumes your subjective notion of 'manhood' can be reduced to ticked boxes on a piece of paper regarding physical action in the world which conform to some value judgement you have. It would tell you nothing of my life experience or what it is to to be me, similarly it would tell you nothing of Bear's life experience or what it is to be him.

If his life achievements tell you nothing about his character, then what possible basis can you have for calling him a "dick"?

It was funny but a missed opportunity, way too crude, it didnt need to be, sort of funnier if it is just exaggerating what he does, didnt need to call him a "**** Eater", sets out its stall too early but the guy doing it had him to a tee.
His Tv programme is just that, a TV programme, sure he has done some real rufty tufty manly stuff but dont take it all too seriously, he will however eat pretty much anything, so credit to him for that, I have sat here gagging just watching.

Clearly the guy is a passenger in life and made no effort to go out into the world and live some of his dreams 
He is clearly only a step away from a dole cheque and a Jeremy Kyle appearance. Its not like he would have enjoyed any of his epic trips around the world.
