Default Royal Fail ..........AGAIN!

My youngest son posted a Mothers' Day card from uni at Hull, in the union building on Thursday last week.

His two mates did the same at the same time, all three cards being the same, (lads, eh?).

THEIR two cards arrived duly on Saturday morning.
My lad's did not, and today, instead, we got a card through telling us there was 12p excess postage and a handling charge of £1 to pay

I went to pick it up and asked to complain, since the other two, identical cards, had been delivered no problem. While the young lass was away finding a complaint form, (which they didn't have), I grabbed the trial size doofer from behind the counter andtried the card through it. It went through no problem.

I showed the young lass this, and she refunded the money.

But that's not the point, is it?

Who refunds my petrol money for going up there? Who gives me back my time? Who eases my lad's heartache when his card never arrived?

I have since rung and made an official complaint.
Let's hope they get it right more often next year. Not holding my breath though

Only that they are machine sorted and our machine may be too sensitive the thickness.

Most people would have paid up and gone: £1.12 extra for the thieves.

Yeah it was fed in the wrong way round......

If it's a minor complaint you get a free book of stamps.

If it's more serious you get two books of stamps

If it's super serious it gets ignored

Who eases my lad's heartache when his card never arrived?
really?

REALLY?

Heartache....really

I think you are over icing your cake here. I hate when people are complaining and over-exaggerate the emotional side of the trauma. If your son was actually heartbroken a mothers day card didn't arrive in time he needs to get a life.

"Mildly frustrated" I could have believed

count yourself lucky

Bought mothers day car over a week ago, suddenly realised last friday that I had not posted that and the dvd to her. Unfortunately she lives in Portugal so never going to make it on time but went to the post office to see how quick they could do it.

Standard post £1.60 , 3-4 days.

Extra fast post 2-3 days (so still be late ) £44.50 :l ol1:

I declined

Nope.

He made the effort, as did his two mates.
He is home for Easter tomorrow, so couldn't afford to come last weekend too.
His mates' cards arrived, his didn't. he feels let down and sad that his mum had no card from him on her day.

That's heartache, however you want to twist it.

And as for getting a life, come on. This is a young man who made an effort to please his mum and BOTH were let down.

Did YOU get mother's day card for your mum when you were that age? Or did you "have a life"?

Or did he grab the first card he found to stop her complaining when he got home ..

Sounds like you're building a case to sue the post office ..

I'd be seriously miffed if I was in Alcazar's shoes. There's something very sanctimonious about a person asserting what an accepted response should be. Perhaps Saxo Boy isn't big on Mother's Day.

Had a similar experience (involving Hull strangely enough) package sent to my daughter checked and posted at a Post Office at home, daughter gets an "insufficient postage" card in Hull. She didn't send her Mum a card as she will be home on Saturday when her dad will be spending half the day and a tank of petrol collecting her
