Watching Dr Helen Czerski explaining Earth/space/environment stuff and thinking that she came across as the female Brian ***. Exactly the same presenting style and mannerisms. Reasonably hot too.
Good programme, would watch again.

Sorry, the few minutes I saw were clearly aimed at the really slow members of the audience. Took 5 minutes to go over something that would have taken a science teacher at my secondary school about 15 seconds and with all of us understanding it. Lots of "wasted" time, as in most programmes these days. For example, the presenter going diving off of Bermuda to bring up a piece of coral. Why??????????????????? Just show us a bit of coral and explain the mechanism of the daily layers. No feckin' need to see you fall backwards off of a boat (she wasn't that hot!).

Dumbed down completely. I lasted about 5-10 minutes and it took them that amount of time to explain why a Norwegian village would see constant daylight for 64 days
Fine if it was aimed at primary kids for educational purposes but 9-10pm on a Sunday

Ah! Thankyou.
Agree with whats been said, but this is ideal stuff for my 8 yo daughter, who already knows half the stuff anyway. Pictures paint 1000 words and this format with the padding inbetween will keep her interested for the full hour.

I watched it last night and found it interesting and well explained so that anyone without the benefit of having studied those things had a good chance of understanding it all.
I have to say that was the best practical demonstration of the Coriolis effect that I have yet seen. I still remember our whole class struggling to understand that and its significance when we were studying meteorology during our initial training. Vital information for basic knowledge when learning that subject.
