Why do I feel so much better at 7.30 every night?
OK, so I'm a bit of a depressive.
At the moment I'm trying various things, NOT including medication, which I've tried and doesn't work...except for the side effects, which do...big time
So.......fairly normal days, (better than they have been), but every night, around 19:20-19:40, I get a lift. Almost a feeling of elation. Why?
And why doesn't it last?
And why can't it stay all day?

excersise really does improve how you feel, i know its done to death but really it works, if its something you enjoy and adds to the buzz, like maybe rock climbing, mountainbiking, all add to it.
as such tho, you will hit a low, although it shouldnt result in a manic depressive lol.
feel good foods also really can help, anti -oxidant food can help, if your diets not been the best for a while toxins can build up in your blood, liver enzymes can become elevated and cortisol increase, all of which can contribute to things like lethargy, depression and just general below par feeling
the biggie is suspect here though and something hardly ever ever discussed is testosterone levels.
its natural as we age for levels to drop, but if drop too low can have a very dramatic impact on feeling of well being, lethargy, enthusiasm along with sometimes decreased libido and a host of other side effects. as testosteron eis released in spikes through the day it could well be your cycle has a spike at this point and makes you feel just a bit better about everything.
its definatley worth asking your gp to do a full bloodwork, for liver/kidneys/ldl/hdl/ testosterone levels, lh levels ect. a full bloodwork can reveal so so many minor issues that are so easily treated.
if your a female, im talking sh*t lol
altho there probelms generally estrogen/progesterone ect in relation to emotion control and feelings

I would personally ask myself...
What do I do all day, and what changes around that time or slightly earlier that may affect my mood.
Look into food and drinks, and the times you have them and whether they may factor into this lift in mood.
Could it be worth keeping a diary for a while to see if you notice anything that is common, that may be responsible? It may be possible that there is a particular act/food/drink that could be leading to this lift, that maybe you can't put your finger on with thought alone, so a diary of everthing may flag something up.
Additionally to that, if you feel so down alot of the time and you don't want drugs as a 'fix', then I would be inclined to go back to the GP and discuss your feelings/concerns and explain that you don't want to be put on medication, you want to get to the root cause of these feelings. It could well be down to lifestyle (food/drink/exercise or lack of etc), it may be depression. I'm obviously no expert, but if you want to feel better, you need to take steps to working out, not only why you perk up, but why you feel low. I genuinely think a diary may help as you can look back after a period of time and see if there is any regular pattern, and it would probably come in quite useful if you decide to go and see your doc as they may spot something you might miss.

So far I'm doing light therapy, 1000mg of Omega 3 a day, 500mg Vitamin C a day, 1000mg evening primrose oil per week.
I'm SUPPOSED to get more exercise, but my sciatica says no thanks
I'm supposed not to think over bad times, and try to distract myself when I start.
All that SEEMs to be working, but I can't get to the bottom of the 7:30pm lift......
