Default Hang on a sec ... ASBOs?????

Just browsing the news and saw this gem:

ASBOs ban Trowbridge pensioners from feeding pigeons

Now correct me if I am wrong but didn't Cameron's mob pledge to abolish the ASBO as part of their election manifesto and in Jul 2010. I distinctly remember Teresa "It's all the police's fault" May making a rare speech in which she appeared to have made a decision... that being to abolish ASBOs forthwith... to replace them with sanctions that are "rehabilitating and restorative rather than criminalising and coercive".

Yet here we are some 18 mionths on and what a surprise... nothing has changed!

Do this lot actually do anything they say they are going to?

Nope, the CBO is not law as yet, the ASBO is still with us. Still in the pipeline though from what I can tell from a few quick Googles!

Cant say anything about ASBO's but in this case they are limiting the feeding to a certain amount of food each day. Apperently the birds are makingh anuisance of themselves with their mess all over the houses etc.

Its not a total ban so I think that is perfectly reasonable if the pensioners are not prepared to voluntarily accept the restricted amount of food.

Yes I think it was the way it was all worded on Feb 11th last year when she made the annoucement as it sounded like it was days away, but that seems to have been a red herring and it is still in consultation.

Yeah true, but I kind of consider the other lot as non-entities now... Milliband has as much chance of becoming PM as my cat!!!
