Default just had a call for work in the new year

Got laid off yesterday nothing new really being a contract industrial electrician,so was looking forward to the holiday season but with the thought at the back of my mind not having anything to go back too in the new year .

Then the phone rings (10mins ago) and asks if i would take a contract for the first week in january for 6mths ,of course i asked the questions of hourly rate and the like and accepted the offer ....Karma does come around.

There is work available if a) you're willing to do it and b) have a good reputation.

My hubby was laid off having been an agency worker for a firm for nearly 12 months. He had been told he was being taken on but then the big-wigs decided not to take anyone else on.

He applied for a new job that night, 1st and 2nd interview the following week and then got the job offer week after. He starts in January, as a full time and permanent employee!! In the meantime, the agency have contacted him with 5 permanent job offers!!!

Congratulations! Nice feeling to know that you don't need to worry about work over christmas!

Always sad to hear job losses at this time of year. Local groundworks firm went bust yesterday and I feel for those involved.

Glad your situation has worked out.
