Ring your local force non emergency number. Call takers are trained to a certain level which means they will know if its a theft or not.
If it is - then its a crime, and they will issue a crime ref number.
If there is any suggestion as to who the offender is (cctv, witness etc) they will investigate - the policeman officer in the case will then report it as a crime and either arrest someone, make futher enquiries or close the job off as neg lines crime.
Hope that helps.

Perhaps I should have explained a bit more. I basically sent out 3 parcels which were items I sold on ebay. Even though I put the right labels on the courier put 3 wrong labels on the parcels so all three got the wrong parcels. It was booked through p2g who arranged for the courier to collect the parcels and deliver to the right people. But hey guess what one of them has stopped communicating with me and now has two parcels. The courier has tried to collect the one which isn't his no luck. So he had £100 worth of equipment now he has £200.
I'm not sure if its classed as theft or not?
If anyone is in London and wants to pay him a visit let me know lol
So I have his name and address.

Oh great, its not so much the money its the fact I was stupid enough to trust all three of them.
The other 2 have been great.
However I have found the guy on Facebook and he is a DJ in SE16 London.
He has two children and also on twitter.
I just don't want him to get away with it.

ive also had this with p2g!
They took a parcel for manchester and delivered it to devon, and vice versa. Couldnt get the one in devon to help in the slightest so I claimed off p2g and refunded the manchester buyer.
Police wont do a thing but you can ask. If they accepted something that isnt knowingly theirs then it is classed as theft so you might be able to get plod to knock on the door.

Sounds like a case for a good old naming, shaming, and relentless persecuting to me
