Default Winter tyres- no stock

Why is it when you want winter tyres in winter, they are all out of stock. I have tried several suppliers and on-line as well. Reply is generally we had supply in May/ June. I don't need them in May, I want them now.

Come on manufacturers, make tyres in sufficient volumes for the time they are needed/wanted

If anybody knows of a supply of Dunlop Winter Sport 3d/4d quantity 4 in size 265 50 R19, pass it on

I had the same problem. They just don't make winter Tyres in the size I need. So I would have to buy another set of smaller wheels, and stick winter Tyres on them. Cost was coming out at just over £1000.

Especially as there are a legal requirement in Germany. So they must be able to buy 19" Tyres over there for all the Audi's, BMW's etc.

Exactly, they must sell sh@t loads in Germany and Scandinavia and yet there is virtually no stock.

Obviously there is a demand for winter tyres due to dealers carrying stock earlier in the year and now have no stock!

Unfortunately, we are not able to give you an online price for the tyre dimensions you gave us. If you need tyres with these dimensions, please use the form below. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Here change.

Why don't you do as they say and fill out the form or maybe even call them?

Here is the number just in case you missed it!

Changed tack, I will source smaller wheels which will open up more tyre options, plus it will doubt be cheaper than a set of Pirelli's

exactly what they do here. It is not uncommon to see flash cars with sh1te small steel wheels on in the winter.

For 2k I would rather go buy a Range Rover. At least I would then get the benefits of a nice car rather than drive some Teutonic tat.

Me too - bought a spare set of 17" wheels back in the summer, now sitting on my P1 with a set of Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25. Not cheap, but essential kit if it snows again anything like it did last year.

There is a tyre dealer over here who is buying in part worn winter tyres from Germany, where the law requires all cars to be on winter rubber by a certain date, and back onto summer rubber by another date. He is selling these on at very competitive prices with very little wear on them. Goes without saying he will bring in the most popular sizes to ensure he sells them on.
