Lots of good stuff there - although I know a shorter version of "tell em etc" - its "Say what you're going to say; Say it; Say what you said" .
The other thing I try to stick to (although it may be hard in a techy presentation) is the 10/20/30 rule - no more than 10 slides, no more than 20 minutes and no less than 30 font. The large font forces you to limit the verbiage on each page and forces you to know your subject as you have to talk from a headline. 20 minutes is about the max attention span for most people, and 10 slides / 2 minutes a slide is all you should need.

I must be a c*nt then. As after numerous car park dings from selfish A*seholes, I always park between 2 bays.
This works most of the time, but selfish A*sehole can sometimes still park 5cm from your door and attempt to get out.
