Far from it IMO; I 'd go as far as saying that they really should equip Police helicopters with something more pro-active in crime management;
I mean following a car from the sky does diddly squat at stopping a persuit nor does hovering over houses to see who hasn't insulated their roof so, IMO they are a total waste of tax payer's money.
Now a couple of M230 chain guns on each side would make these things far more useful, as well as air to ground missiles for swift elimination of cannabis farms (and houses wasting too much energy through lack of insulation )

The thing I like about this it the fact that in all the moves the good guy is on the bonnet and jumps on to the wing of the plane and climbs in to save the day, but in reality they just pile the car into the plane to stop it, classic 10 out of 10...
