"Prometheus" Movie - 2012
Anybody else heard of it?
Directed by Ridley Scott and it's supposed to be a)a prequel to the original Alien movie (1979) and b)a voyage to the ends of the universe to discover the true meaning of life.
From the synopsis i've read it sounds like it's going to be a real masterpiece and I, for one, can't bloody wait!!!

Battleship looks cool - although Battle:LA looked good until I bought the bluray and raged for an hour and half at how utterly poor it was.
Prometheus looks very cool though - theres pictures on the net of some of the set and the backgrounds look like the alien ship from Alien.
I read one idea that Aliens were originally a form of bio-weapon or bio-terra forming species of the Space Jockey race and human species were also created by the Space Jockey race. We got involved with the Space Jockeys before the events of Alien, one of our race throws a wobbly and can't cope with the Space Jockeys having been our creators and in the process of this wobbly he transforms the bio terra forming species into the Aliens by mistake. The Space Jockeys get pi55ed at us for biting the hand that feeds them and come after us (the 2nd and 3rd films)

Some time later however it was confirmed that while the movie will take place in the same universe as Alien, and greatly reference that movie, it will, for the bigger part, be an original movie and not a direct prequel.

I grew up with Alien being THE sci-fi film of my generation and as such, am eagerly awaiting Scott revisiting the story. However, looking at those stills I can't help but notice how prettily the girls are made up. The original had a gritty realism, with Sigourney and the rest of the cast looking like you'd expect if you were half way across the universe with nothing to do but nurse a big foo-off industrial space-ship for months. That Noomi girl has perfect blusher, eyebrows, eye-shadow and lippy. Quite how important it is to look your best in a space suit facing certain death in a dingy, derelict, crash site at the ****-end of the universe I don't know. I'm sure the film will be amazing as Scott rarely puts a foot wrong, but those stills have worried me.

He did the most recent Robin Hood didn't he? That was fairly rubbish.
Have to say I'm a bit worried about the look of the film. It does look far too polished.
He's supposed to be making a Blade Runner film after this one too.
