Default Any roofers on here?

Just had a survey done on a house we've put an offer on.

Survey states that mortar torching is evident. After research I've found out it's missing mortar that stops the driving rain entering the property.

What are my options in regards to fixing it? Will a membrane do the job just as well? Costs?

It's a 3 bed semi.

Thanks,

Nick.

Surely you just get someone in to re-point the missing bits. Shouldn't cost more than a few £100.

Best way I'd have thought.

I did mine at the start of the summer - made it a bigger job than it needed to be, as I chipped out all the old mortar and repointed the whole lot. Took me a day to do both sides of my detached houes - but like I say, I made it into a larger job than it needed to be, both in terms of time and effort.

Just goes to show that most home surveys are a complete waste of time.
