My navigator and I were doing a survival course in Germany once where we had to tramp several miles in the middle of the night and avoid capture by the German Army.

We hitched a lift in a car and slept in a haystack just down the road from the assembly point until the morning at the appointed time.

We got away with it and everyone thought how fit we were both looking after the long "trek" which all the others did.

LOL

We did that that on an E&E excercuse in Cyprus. We tabbed until we found a bar with a truck outside, one of use went in and persuaded the driver to drive us to the finish line. He drove us through hostile territory and past hunter forces and dropped us off a few hundred metres from the end where we all had a good nights sleep and tabbed in in the morning at nearly platoon strength

Good one. Doesn't it feel satisfying though?
