POWER ENGINEERING in the Marathon!

Most of you will have heard of me, (good and bad) but perhaps not so many people have met me.
I am 40 years old and regard useful exercise as running downstairs to fetch the cream cakes. I am very busy with running 2 companies and have never had time for anything much outside work or home.
However I have decided to run the London Marathon on April 22nd THIS YEAR. This is a serious challenge and not something which comes remotely easily for me. (I was the one at school who organised the rota of people who would write the 100 lines and sell them to people who wanted to get out of cross country running!)
The reason for this step is that I wanted to do something more challenging than running POWER ENGINEERING (as if that was possible) and wanted to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
I had a son who died from an unusual heart disorder and they were very good to us. They are a huge source of money for research into heart disease and this is my way of thanking them.
I have committed £2500 to this event and would like to ask if anyone out there would be kind enough to add to it.
The reason I am asking you now is so that all of you who are coming to see us at the Autosports Show will be prepared and can bring your cheque books.
We are discussing with our credit card company so that we can accept credit card donations without any commission being removed but this is not ready yet.
So we look forward to seeing you at the show, (POWERFLEX stand 7421).
If you are not coming to the show and you would like to make a donation I would be very grateful. You can make a cheque or payment to British Heart Foundation and send it to our address at work.
Your cheques will not be paid in to British Heart Foundation until after I finish the Marathon (or it finishes me!)
I am sure even Anders would be willing to encourage me to perform an event which has the potential to kill me!
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards
David Power

Having been brought back from the edge of the abyss by some wonderful doctors in Japan I am more than happy to sponsor you.
I will give you £10 for every mile you complete.
If you make the full distance I will donate £300 so p lease let us all know via the bbs.
Good Luck and make sure you pace yourself.
