Basically -

You buy 30 @ £2.75 (= £82.50)

3 for £5 = 10 x £5 = £50 so remove £32.50 from the bill

AS WELL AS:

BOGOF = £82.50 / 2 = £41.25 from the bill

£32.50 + £41.25 = £73.75

£82.50 - £73.75 = £8.75

I had a look Kieran. What's happened, have both discounts been taken off together but separately if you follow?

I can't work out the math!!!

Surely 3 for £5 and BOGOF means 6 oranges for £5?

Why is it 6 for £1.75?

offer 1 - you need 2 for buy one get one free
offer 2 - 3 for £5

but both offers work together

so you buy 6

6 = 2 x 3 for £5 and buy 3 get 3 free giving you a total of 6 for a total off £1.75 to pay

What? I don't get this

If it is 3 for £5 then 30 would be £50?

Why are you removing £32.50?

Just to clarify - what has happened is that the Tesco deals are being processed separately by the till computer, so it subtracts the deal amounts regardless of the fact that one deal has already been done.

Hence two subtractions.

I'd best get down Tesco quick then, as there's only one person in Scunthorpe capable of working that out and he's in France

For a fiver for that lot, they're all going to work tomorrow to give out to colleagues. My little treat for the office.

And they'll all be gone by the end of the 10am coffee round, i expect
